Todoist
Connect Todoist so the plan you make with BrightMind lands in your task list, and so the assistant knows what's already on your plate when you talk.
Do you need it?
You can use BrightMind with no connection at all: it has its own built-in tasks, ready from the moment you sign in. Connect Todoist only if you already keep your tasks there and want them to stay there.
What it does
Once Todoist is connected, BrightMind reads and writes your actual task list instead of keeping a separate one. When you untangle a messy day together, the result is real Todoist tasks with due dates and priorities. And when you come back later, the assistant sees what got done and what slipped, so the conversation picks up from reality.
Connecting
Open the app and go to Settings → Integrations, then tap Todoist. You can also pick it during onboarding, where Todoist is offered alongside BrightMind’s own tasks. You’ll be sent to Todoist in your browser to sign in and approve access; once you approve, you land back in BrightMind with the integration live. No copying API keys, no setup beyond that.
Check that it works
After connecting, send one test task: say “add a task to buy milk tomorrow” in a conversation, then open the Todoist app and find it. If it landed in the list you expected, with the date you asked for, the connection is doing its job. If it didn’t, check which task manager is active (below) and try once more before reconnecting.
One task manager at a time
BrightMind saves new tasks to one place at a time: its own built-in tasks, Todoist, TickTick, or Google Tasks. Connecting Todoist makes it the active one, replacing whichever was active before. You can keep more than one connected, and the switch on each tile in Settings → Integrations changes which one is active without disconnecting the others. Switch Todoist off and new tasks go back to BrightMind’s built-in tasks. Switching doesn’t move your old tasks.
What the assistant can do
- Capture tasks straight from conversation, with projects, sections, priorities, labels, durations, and natural-language due dates (“next Friday morning”).
- Show your day or week: what’s due, what’s overdue, and what you’ve completed.
- Reschedule tasks without breaking their recurrence: recurring patterns are preserved.
- Complete, reopen, update, and reorganize tasks; create and manage projects, sections, and filters.
- Set reminders on tasks, at a specific time or relative to the due date.
- In shared projects: read comments and assign tasks to collaborators.
- Pull up your productivity stats: completion trends, karma, and streaks.
Works in voice too
Everything above is available in voice calls as well. Mention a task mid-call and it shows up in Todoist before you hang up.
Privacy & permissions
BrightMind requests Todoist’s data:read_write scope so it can read and update your tasks and projects. We don’t use the data for ads, we don’t sell it, and no human at BrightMind reads your tasks except for support or abuse investigation.
You can disconnect at any time from Settings → Integrations (long-press the Todoist tile and choose Remove). Disconnecting deletes the stored access token immediately on our side. See our privacy policy for the full retention and deletion story.
