TickTick

Connect TickTick so the plan you make with BrightMind lands in your task list, and so the assistant can work with your habits and focus stats, not just your tasks.

Do you need it?

You can use BrightMind with no connection at all: it has its own built-in tasks, ready from the moment you sign in. Connect TickTick only if you already keep your tasks there, or if you want BrightMind to see your TickTick habits and focus sessions.

What it does

Once TickTick is connected, BrightMind reads and writes your actual task list instead of keeping a separate one. When you untangle a messy day together, the result is real TickTick tasks with dates and priorities. And when you come back later, the assistant sees what got done and what slipped, so the conversation picks up from reality. It also sees your TickTick habits and focus sessions, which makes it a natural fit for habit coaching.

Habit tracking and focus logging are TickTick features, not BrightMind ones: BrightMind has no habits of its own, so that part of the conversation only works while TickTick is your connected task manager.

Connecting

Open the app and go to Settings → Integrations, then tap TickTick. You can also pick it during onboarding, where TickTick is offered alongside BrightMind’s own tasks. You’ll be sent to TickTick in your browser to sign in and approve access; once you approve, you land back in BrightMind with the integration live. No copying API keys, no setup beyond that.

Dida365, TickTick’s Chinese edition, appears as its own tile in the same list and works the same way.

Check that it works

After connecting, send one test task: say “add a task to buy milk tomorrow” in a conversation, then open TickTick and find it. If it landed in the list you expected, with the date you asked for, the connection is doing its job. If it didn’t, check which task manager is active (below) and try once more before reconnecting.

One task manager at a time

BrightMind saves new tasks to one place at a time: its own built-in tasks, TickTick, Todoist, or Google Tasks. Connecting TickTick makes it the active one, replacing whichever was active before. You can keep more than one connected, and the switch on each tile in Settings → Integrations changes which one is active without disconnecting the others. Switch TickTick off and new tasks go back to BrightMind’s built-in tasks. Switching doesn’t move your old tasks.

What the assistant can do

  • Capture tasks straight from conversation, with priorities, due dates, repeat rules, subtasks, and tags.
  • Show your day or week: due today, due tomorrow, this week, overdue. Recurring tasks included.
  • Complete, update, and move tasks between projects; create and organize projects.
  • Work with your habits: create them, check them in from a conversation, and review your streaks.
  • See how much focused time you’ve logged and on what, and log a session you did away from the timer.
  • Search across everything and pull up a quick overview of where things stand.

Good to know

A few edges come from TickTick’s public API rather than BrightMind, and the assistant works within them:

  • The assistant can review your focus stats and log a session you already did (“I focused 40 minutes on the report this morning”), but starting a live Pomodoro happens in TickTick itself.
  • Subtasks go one level deep; the assistant can’t nest subtasks inside subtasks.
  • Habits can’t be deleted through the API. If you ask the assistant to remove one, it gets archived instead.
  • On TickTick’s free plan, a task keeps a single date. If you ask for a start date and a due date, TickTick stores just the due date. Date ranges need TickTick Premium.
  • Some bulk operations can be limited: moving or updating many tasks at once may only get partway through before the connection pauses. If you ask for a large change, check TickTick afterward to see how far it got.

Works in voice too

Everything above is available in voice calls as well. Mention a task mid-call and it shows up in TickTick before you hang up, and checking in a habit is one sentence.

Privacy & permissions

BrightMind requests TickTick’s tasks:read and tasks:write scopes so it can read and update your tasks and projects. We don’t use the data for ads, we don’t sell it, and no human at BrightMind reads your tasks except for support or abuse investigation.

You can disconnect at any time from Settings → Integrations (long-press the TickTick tile and choose Remove). Disconnecting deletes the stored access token immediately on our side. See our privacy policy for the full retention and deletion story.
