Account and data
Your account is yours to keep or remove. This page covers signing in across devices, what BrightMind stores, and which deleting or disconnecting action does what.
Signing in and keeping access
An account with BrightMind needs no email address and no password. You can stay anonymous. If you use BrightMind on a new phone, sign in with that same account and you keep working where you left off.
Because some accounts have no email or password attached, the way you keep access depends on how you signed in on your current phone. Keep that sign-in method available to you: it is how you get back in on a new device.
If you haven’t signed in yet, Settings shows Sign in to save your progress. Tap it and sign in with email, Apple or Google to keep the account you already have, conversations included, so you can get back to it on another phone.
What is stored, in plain terms
The short answers:
- Your conversations are stored with your account so you can come back to them. Most accounts are anonymous, so a conversation is usually tied only to a random ID.
- Voice call audio and transcripts are kept for up to 30 days so we can look into quality problems, then they’re deleted automatically.
- You can opt out of call recording and quality review by emailing stan@brightmind.club.
- Our main database is hosted in the EU.
- You need no email or password for an account, and you can stay anonymous.
For retention periods, legal grounds, and everything else, read the privacy policy.
Deleting, disconnecting, canceling: not the same thing
These four actions are easy to confuse. They do different things.
- Deleting a conversation removes that conversation from your history. It does not cancel your subscription and it does not touch your tasks.
- Deleting your account ends your account entirely. This is different from deleting one conversation, and it is final in a way the other actions are not. See Delete account. It doesn’t cancel a Plus subscription, though: Apple or Google bills that, so cancel it in the App Store or Google Play as well.
- Disconnecting an app, like Todoist or TickTick, removes BrightMind’s access to it. Your tasks stay in that app. Your BrightMind account stays open.
- Canceling a subscription stops future billing. You do it in the App Store or Google Play, wherever you bought it. It does not delete your account or your data.
Restore a purchase
If you reinstalled the app or changed phones and your Plus no longer shows, open Settings, tap the BrightMind Plus card, and tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of the offer. More on plans in Free vs Plus.
Go through onboarding again
Open Settings, then Manage account, then Show onboarding again. It takes you through onboarding from the start, which is the quickest way to change your task manager choice or your daily check-in.
Contact the team
If something here does not match what you see, write to stan@brightmind.club or use Discord from Settings. A conversation with BrightMind is not automatically a support request, so reaching out directly is the way to get a human.
